Autumn Tour of Vallesinella: Stages, Times, and Alerts

Madonna di Campiglio
Back to Discover

Autumn in the Dolomiti di Brenta has a different rhythm. October brings silence, crisp air, and the unmistakable scent of resin and damp earth. Vallesinella, with its famous waterfalls, becomes in these weeks an amphitheater of coppery beeches and golden larches. However, if you are planning the classic loop trail to admire the waterfalls, there are important updates to consider during these mid-October days.

Work in progress: what changes from late September 2026

It is therefore not possible to complete the full loop exactly as proposed in the summer months. It is necessary to replan the itinerary, studying out-and-back routes or alternative detours to avoid finding your path blocked.

The stages to admire the waterfalls

The official portal indicates precise timings for the various segments of the route. Despite the partial closures, the spectacle of the water shaping the Dolomite rock remains a powerful experience.

  • Cascate Alte: The roar of the water among the wooden bridges offers a remarkable sight, enhanced by the contrast between the light rock and the autumn vegetation.
  • Travel times: Calculate your times with a good margin. Detours to bypass the worksites can extend the duration of the hike compared to the standard times indicated on the original signage.
  • Trail conditions: Autumn humidity makes roots and rocks slippery; using appropriate footwear is essential.

Practical information for logistics

Autumn in Val Rendena requires independent organization. Please remember that the summer ski lifts in Madonna di Campiglio closed in mid-September (between September 13 and 20, 2026); therefore, do not rely on cable cars to shorten elevation gains or facilitate approaches.

Furthermore, the management of the road to Vallesinella and the frequency of the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta shuttles change radically compared to the summer. Before leaving, carefully check the vehicular access rules, bus schedules, and, of course, weather reports through local information channels.
